Robb Report Culinary Masters 2019

Welcome to Robb Report’s Culinary Masters Weekend Getaway at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar
in San Diego, California

Guests will enjoy a weekend complete with an incredible gala reception and multi-course dining experience prepared by some of the most acclaimed luminaries in the culinary world. This year’s Culinary Masters chefs will include: Chefs Daniel Boulud, Thomas Keller, Jérôme Bocuse, William Bradley, Paul Bartolotta, Justin Cogley, Timothy Hollingsworth, Michelle Karr-Ueoka, Gavin Kaysen, Francis Reynard and Ming Tsai.

On the first day of the Culinary Masters Weekend, guests will experience an unforgettable gala reception and a multi-course fine dining experience as well as a silent and live auction during the evening, where 100% of the proceeds will directly benefit the Ment’or BKB Foundation.  The next day, guests will have the opportunity to participate in a golf tournament or take a class in golf or cooking, all side by side with the participating Culinary Masters chefs. Following these activities, guests will be meet and interact with the chefs during a relaxed dinner prepared by the chefs themselves. The exciting weekend will come to a close with brunch the following morning.

Robb Report partners with the Ment’or BKB Foundation which is led by culinary luminaries Daniel Boulud, Thomas Keller, and Jérôme Bocuse. The mission of the Ment’or BKB Foundation is to inspire culinary excellence in young professionals and preserve the traditions and quality of cuisine in America by offering continuing education grants for culinary professionals and mentoring up and coming chefs to join the Bocuse d’Or Team USA at the world’s most prestigious culinary competition. Guests may choose between the Golf Tournament or the Cooking Class during the day, inclusive of lunch. (Couples may choose to attend either together or each separately). In the evening, guests will join together for dinner where the Master Chefs will prepare their favorite Sunday dinner recipes for a more relaxed meal, complete with a lighthearted Golf Awards presentation.

Sunday evening dinner with the Chefs. A more relaxed, but equally delicious evening where the Master Chefs that had not cooked Saturday evening will put on their aprons and share their favorite Sunday dinner recipes.

As we continue to build our legacy and introduce more aspiring young cooks to the Bocuse d’Or, we are proud to present our 2018 Young Chef and Commis Competitions. These events help identify up-and-coming culinary leaders and provide them with the incredible opportunity to travel to Lyon, France and support team USA at the 2019 Bocuse d’Or Finale in January.

On December 12th, you can cheer on seven Young Chef teams and five Commis candidates, as they compete in front of a panel of esteemed chefs from the Foundation’s Culinary Council. 

Chef judges include Paul Bartolotta (The Bartolotta Restaurants), Justin Cogley (Aubergine), Gerard Craft (Niche Food Group), Olivier Dubreuil (The Venetian Palazzo Resort), Chris Hastings (Hot & Hot Fish Club), Michelle Karr-Ueoka (MW Restaurant), Timothy Hollingsworth (Otium), Roland Passot (La Folie), Mathew Peters (Bocuse d’Or Team USA 2017 Gold Medalist), Francis Reynard (Chileno Bay Club & Dune Deck Beach Club), Rich Rosendale (Roots 657), Curtis Stone (Stones Restaurant Group), Philip Tessier (Bocuse d’Or Team USA 2015 Silver Medalist; Hestan).
